Marea Gazzard AM, a sculptor specialising in clay and bronze, initially trained in ceramics and later studied sculpture under Lyndon Dadswell. Her artistic journey included a debut solo exhibition in 1963, and she later expanded her repertoire to include bronze casting in 1969. Gazzard has also completed a number of important commissions, including for the Executive Court of Parliament in Canberra, a large bronze piece named Mingarri: The Little Olgas, which references the iconic Uluru at the heart of Australia. In 2004, she completed Bindu for the Olympic Games in Athens.
